Loved Rett and Cassie. They were so funny and cute together. Both were so likeable., and big hearted. Both beaten down, Rett by his mother and Cassie by her father. Both needing a firm push and pep talks to see their worth. Danburn, Kendrick, and Lady Elissa were just the dragons/people to do it. I loved how Rett and Danburn met and became friends. How Cassie came to work for the Dragon King and Queen.Loved Shawn and Phillip. Hope to see more of then as the series progress.
Looking forward to Hanson's story and meeting the others Danburn calls friends.

I loved Everett & Cassie's story. What is love without obstacles to over come. This was a lovely story!!! Can't wait for Hanson's story.
I love a good dragon story and this series is full of handsome and beautiful dragons. In this tale the dragon is the beautiful Cassie....known as an elemental dragon.
Everette Welsh is a lawyer friend of Danburn English. When Everette is mortally wounded, Cassie saves his life and in turn discovers he is her mate.
This is the second book in this series and I look forward to reading the rest.
I am really enjoying this series, I love a story that can make you laugh and smile. Both the main characters are very likeable but do not have a lot of feelings of self worth. Their mating is not going to be smooth, it will encounter some bumps along the road and will be very entertaining. I liked that this character combination was different, Cassie was the dragon and Everette was human. It helped me gain a different perspective as usually the male is the macho in control character but in this case Everette was a little lost. The characters were interesting, we meet some interesting supporting characters that I am sure will become major participants in the future storylines. Kendrick and Danbury play a major role helping the plot develop and keeping things interesting. I like that the characters crossover linking the storylines and adding depth to underlying tale. I always learn new tidbits about the past characters making them seem more real adding new twists. Drama, magic, danger, friendship and love await you as once again enter the English Dragon series and at the end we always get a quick look at the next story to come making you anxiously await the new coming tale.

Everett "Rett" Welsh is very aware his parents won't be winning any parent of the year awards. The Welsh name never held prestige, but it also never was dragged through the mud like it is now thanks to his parents past and present actions. Despite having a tarnished name he's worked hard to become the lawyer he is, even if he hates his job. When he's forced to apologize to somebody who's blackmailing him, he quits his job before he considers the repercussions. His buddy from college, Danburn, couldn't of offered him a vacation at a better time.
Cassie hasn't successfully escaped living under her father's ruling thumb just to be stuck under another man. But after reporting to Danburn she finds herself with a job at the homeless shelter. When Everette is shot after going on a mission to help a homeless man, Cassie doesn't hesitate to give him her blood to help him. She never expected she would be saving her mate!
Now Cassie and Everette must find a way to help each other when their parents are determined to bring them to heel again.
I love everything Kathi writes, and Everette was no difference. I do have a couple of complaints though...
I was very sad this book didn't go on forever! It just wasn't long enough for me, but that's just my personal opinion, I can't get enough of Kathi's books =)
Everette, aka Rett, has had to struggle for years. He's worked for everything he has, which admittedly isn't much, but he accomplished his dream and became a lawyer. The stigma of his parents' past and current behavior have made his life difficult in every way. He knows he owes a lot to his friend, Danburn, and won't hesitate to repay him when given the chance. When Danburn calls in that favor, Rett's only concern is not being able to leave due to his job, though Rett inevitably takes care of that issue, and a relief he's never experienced envelopes him.
Cassie, a dragon, was drawn to Danburn's own dragon once she entered his area, the power of it leading her to his doorstep, and subsequently a job with his new wife, Kendrick. Cassie needed the job at the time, due to circumstances that were quickly resolved, thanks to Kendrick. Now Cassie happily works for the couple because she wants to.
As Rett and Cassie help someone in need, Rett is injured and Cassie does the only thing she can, something her dragon insists she does...save their mate. Now Rett and Cassie must adjust to their new lives, as all mates do, and the abilities that come with it. But, that's not their main concern, because again, as all couples will attest, the truly hard part is meeting and coexisting with their respective in-laws. We may think it's difficult as a human, but that's nothing compared to what Rett and Cassie must endure.
What happens when you realize you've found your mate and it's as he's gravely injured? How will Rett feel upon learning what happened? Can he and Cassie accept and enjoy their new path? Will Rett's Dad be exonerated? If he's not guilty, then who is? Why does Cassie's Dad suddenly seem interested in her life? Are Rett and Cassie safe? Is there a HEA in their future?

This one actually made me cry at the end. I love all of these books.
